Bandzoogle names Dave Cool Vice President of Business Development

October 24, 2019 - Musician website platform Bandzoogle announced that they have promoted Dave Cool, an 8-year veteran at the company, to Vice President of Business Development.

In addition to his passion for helping artists succeed online, Cool brings key industry knowledge and strategic vision to this role.

Hired in 2012 as Bandzoogle’s Community Manager, Cool has engaged thousands of artists and created valuable content with the aim of empowering musicians. As the company’s Director of Artist Relations since 2014, he has leveraged industry partnerships to help lead the company to record growth.

Now in its 16th year of operations, Bandzoogle powers over 40,000 websites for musicians, who have sold more than $55 million in music and merch, commission-free, through the platform.

“When Dave joined the team in 2011 he immediately felt like family,” says Stacey Bedford, CEO. “Since then, he has proven to be an integral player in the music tech industry, using Bandzoogle’s artist tools to build out resources and elevate musicians globally. Dave has fostered relationships with the likes of CD Baby, ASCAP, Bandsintown, and more. There is no better person to strategize our growth with like-minded, honest partners and bring artists the services they need.”

“Long before I ever worked for Bandzoogle, I was a huge fan of theirs and even a paying member,” says Cool. “They've always put musicians first, and I've been grateful to be part of their team the last 8 years. To be named a VP at the company is an absolute honor, and I'm looking forward to continuing to grow the platform and helping musicians navigate the music industry.”

A Montreal resident, Cool has spoken at dozens of music conferences including SXSW, Canadian Music Week, SF MusicTech, and ASCAP EXPO. He has been interviewed by The Economist, Newsweek International, CNN.com, and the Financial Post for his insights on the music industry.
