One of the best reasons to host your website through Bandzoogle is to give your music a home online where it can be sold commission-free.

Note: When you add music to your website, the settings you’ve applied will be saved in the music feature. You can reuse tracks, albums, and singles throughout your site and they will retain the same settings. If you want to change the settings of a track, album, or single on only one page of your website, create a new track, album, or single and apply its unique settings (such as a free offering or different listening preview options).

How to receive payment from music sales

Anytime you sell music through your website, you’ll be paid for it. This payment will go either to Stripe or PayPal, depending on which platform you have set up and which method of payment your customer uses to complete their purchase. Bandzoogle does not take any money from your sales.

To learn more about where to collect money from your sales, please view the 'Getting Paid through PayPal and Stripe' Help article.

How to sell an album

This option is for selling a collection of tracks. When a customer purchases an album, the download will be a zip file that includes everything in the album feature - all tracks, album artwork, and any bonus files you’ve additionally uploaded.

To learn more about selling an album, please view the 'Selling an Album' Help article.

How to sell a track

If you would like to sell tracks on your website that aren’t a part of an album or EP, you can use the ‘Track List’ feature. This is useful if you’d like to sell tracks from different albums or a collection of singles.

To learn more about selling tracks, please view the 'Selling a Track' Help article.

Note: Lite and Standard members can upload up to 250MB per individual track file. Pro plan members can upload up to 600MB per individual track file.

How to sell a single

If you are releasing a single ahead of an album release, or as a standalone track, you can use the ‘Single’ feature. To learn more about selling singles, please view the 'Selling a Single' Help article.

How to sell CDs, cassettes, and vinyl records

This option allows you to sell physical CDs, cassettes, and vinyl records. You can sell CDs, cassettes, and vinyl with a digital version included, or sell the physical product exclusively. To learn more about selling CDs and vinyl, please view the 'Selling CDs, Vinyl, and Cassettes' Help article.

Note: Bandzoogle does not handle order fulfillment for CDs, cassettes, or vinyl. You are responsible for shipping the product to your customer.

How to sell pre-orders for an upcoming album

If you have an album scheduled for release and you’d like to allow your fans to pre-purchase the digital download, you can set up this option using the ‘Album’ feature. To help with your promotion leading up to the album release, you can use a ‘Digital album pre-sale’ landing page template to direct visitors to the pre-purchase option. To learn more about using a digital album pre-order page, please view the ‘How to Create a Digital Album Pre-Sale Landing Page’ Help article.

Note: The ‘Digital album pre-sale’ landing page template is included in the Pro membership plan.

How to sell individual tracks from a player

Tracks can be sold separately in a few ways. Add or sell your music using a compact player, your site-wide music player, or in a track list. If you would like to sell a series of tracks that aren’t a part of an album, please view the 'Adding Music' Help article.

How to view music sales in your account

If you’ve received a purchase notification email, you can view a detailed report of the transaction through your ‘Selling Tools’ control panel in the ‘Transactions’ area. To learn more about your transaction history, please view the ‘Selling Tools’ Help article.

You can also view your transaction reports within any music feature on your website. To view your music sales, follow these steps:

  1. From the ‘Edit Content’ tab, click on a page where you have added a music feature
  2. On the page, click on the music feature you have added
  3. From the options panel on the left, click the ‘Transaction history’ tab

How to sell product bundles

Bundles are a great way to combine multiple products in one package, which can be especially useful for items frequently purchased together or for special promotions. To learn more about your transaction history, please view the ‘Product Bundling’ Help article.

Note: The bundle option is included in the Pro membership plan.

How to upsell products

Upselling is a great way to encourage fans to purchase similar or related products in your music website store. Upselling provides the option to suggest products for your fans to add to their cart along with the item they intend to purchase. When fans add an ‘Upsell product’ to their cart it will appear as a separate item from the initial product. To learn more about providing upsell options, please view the ‘Upselling Products’ Help article.

Note: The upsell option is included in the Pro membership plan.

How to feature your music as the call to action

The ‘Call-to-Action Header’ feature is ideal for encouraging visitors to your website to perform a specific action. This can be used to get more sales on an album, sell tickets, or promote a new merch item. Place a ‘Call-to-Action Header’ feature in your website’s header as a marketing tool, and provide a link to your music to encourage sales. To learn more about using a call to action, please view the ‘Call-to-action Header Feature’ Help article.

How to set up a crowdfunding page

If you’re raising money for a new album, a crowdfunding page will help you collect funds to support your music. Add rewards for fans to choose from, and you’ll be ready to start your crowdfunding campaign. To learn more about creating a crowdfunding page on your website, please view the ‘Creating a Crowdfunding Page’ Help article.

How to use Smart Links to sell music

The ‘Smart Links’ feature allows you to promote and sell your music, and provide direct links to the e-commerce tools on your website, streaming platforms, and/or link to your other social channels. The feature displays a promotional image, streamlined buttons, and eye-catching titles alongside a description that encourages fans and industry professionals to review your latest release. To learn more about using Smart Links, please view the ‘Smart Links’ Help article.

Note: The ‘Smart Links’ feature is included in the Pro membership plan.
